Playing Off the Glass With Confidence

The skill that makes padel feel like padel.

Wall play is the biggest single difference from tennis, and the fastest way to improve.

Let It Come

The commonest error is rushing the ball before it comes off the glass. Wait.

Move Back, Then Forward

Give yourself room, then step into the ball as it comes off the wall. Never play it while backing away.

Watch the Ball, Not the Wall

Turn your head and track it all the way. Guessing produces shanks.

Back Wall First

Learn the straight back-wall ball before worrying about side-wall or double-wall balls.

Lob Off the Glass

The default reply from deep is a high lob. It resets the point and buys the net back.

Double Walls

Side then back is the hardest ball in padel. Give it more space than feels sensible.

Drill It Alone

Ten minutes hitting into the back wall on an empty court beats an hour of matches for this skill.
